Growing up is hard. Maturing is tough. Beach needs to change as the people who play there change. But the limit is back up to 3, again. Uber blockers.

Whiners are people who want changes for their own selfish interests. I'd hardly call myself a whiner because I challange a mind-set that is so entrenched. Changes need to be made in order to make the game a lot more fun FOR THE MAJORITY. Get used to it and stop whining about it.

I realize that my opinion matters little.. but if they want a day of destruction, how about a day without panzers, flamethrowers, mausers, (keep venom, hehe)? What makes OLTL servers fun is gunfights. kll and revive over and over is a blast. I play on Elite's destruction server w very limited lives and ff on and there are very few panzers there. It is a great place to play. Noobs come and leave very quickly. But on a 64 player server the fun is that you can always have good battles due to the sheer volume of peeps there.

The only reason panzers were put in this game was the Quake rocket mentality. We all know this is a different game. If panzers were gone you wouldnt even notice.

2 panzers was perfect cause if more were needed some meds or lts would pick them up. 3 is almost back to business as usual

I know I rambled but I have a new baby...hard to pay attention for more than a few minutes.

B. make soldier free day also,ff on

Currently the admins are doing a fabulous job at keeping the faust-blockers down. I was accused a few weeks ago of making too many admins. I made them because we have so many blockers. A lot of those admins approached me precisely because there are so many blockers and there arn't enough admins around to handle it. Probably 90% of door blockers are faust users. Anyone can do the math. It isn't hard.

It's precisely because the admins keep so much on top of the blockers that everyone doesn't care about the faust problem. That's largely why the faust-limit thread was so stuffed with faust-loving raging wanks that trashed the idea.

So...I'll refrain from kicking or dealing with faust blockers for a few weeks. Other admins can do as they wish. Lets see how the faust-blocking dilema affects the populace--and then hear their voice--not the voice of some tiny elitist minority.

The game for you has become un-enjoyable and I am sure for some others, but to blame door blocking on the fausts?? come on there are sniper and venoms and all the other guns that people use that are blocking the door, I think that is a weak defense for getting the faust lowered in number

And for people accusing you of making to many admin's... well I think you have your story wrong, I recall you told me that you got tired of people asking you to become one so you just gave on and made them one.... That is what you told me:roll:

Two admins were made due to the hue and cry of people like yourself Stephanie. 3 or 4 more were made because they were tired of the blocking. And yes, not only fausts block doors. But 90% of the blocking is done by faust users.

There are 2 reasons for the request to lower the faust limit. One, for blocking. 2, as I've outlined in detail in the thread concerning the new changes, because of the rampant raping of noobs by veterans.

I don't know how much clearer I can make that.

Regarding my enjoyment of the game--I love the game, and I love playing at the Beach.

Trust me, my personal sentiments are set aside in this decision. I noticed the inherant weakness in the game due to the faust within my first week of playing. My personal sentiments are that it shouldn't be in the game at all. I agree with what Goblin said--it was likely put in as a roll-over from Quake. But it's part of the game so I deal with it.

I also deal with people all day long and their reaction to playing at the Beach. I *gasp* care about public opinion. Left to myself, I would have brought the matter up to Boc 7 months ago. My recent advance of the issue came from the impetus of so many complaints upon the matter.

I don't think it was so much about how many admins but the quality of the admins. Some of the players who are admins right now should have never been made admins. Some of them do not do anything or barely play on the server enough to be a proper and respected admin.

One thing the vets and noobs have in common is that we all go to the beach to have fun. Of course everyone's interpretation of fun may be different. Some enjoy killing 5 allies with one panzer shot or a sniper sitting on sniper hill the whole 25 minutes. Fact of the matter is that there is very little teamplay on the beach. Countless times you will see a medic run past a few bodies without reviving. You will see lts refuse to give out ammo. You will see soldiers spawn killing. Even though I get killed probably at least 50-60 percent of the time by panzer..I realize that this is a PUBLIC server. If i want teamplay, no noobs and ff then i would join a league or tournament etc. No matter the game, no matter the time...there will always be noobs doing things like door blocking etc. The admins are doing a good job keeping the beach running smoothly. We do have a good number of regulars on there whom i enjoy playing with and will continue to play with even if they turn this server into chaos for one day a week. Only problem i see is severe lag...set player limit at around 45 and lets start killing. see yall there

well i see my opinons and comments mean nothing. at least i tried to "keep the peace" this shit has got to stop. its like a disfunctional family. all this fighting may relieve u in thinking your making your points, but to me it doesnt seem to be working. its just a bunch of rude comments back and forth, its like the ecgn version of springer. i like everyone who commented on this thread. but this bickering and needless bashing should be dampered. and this thread closed, or at least moved into the admin forums so players dont admin bashing in public :(

Stephanie, I used you in reference to someone that was made an admin because you, along with a lot of other people, approached me about making that person an admin. I have no idea how you became one.

Creating admins is a tough decision. Not only do you have to know the person fairly well over time, but you have to guess at what they may be like when they get 'the powah'. It's not an exact science and I've certainly regretted a few of my decisions. On that note, I can't demote an admin unless they are there--so if someone is made an admin and then goes on to a diff't game, perhaps occasionally dropping by the beach once a month or so, I have to be lucky enough to catch them there. Thus we have about 5 'rogue' admins who are rarely seen.


And Ship...I respect your attempt to keep things neutral. But this is an issue which needs to be addressed so I'm not going to back down when faced by a group, even one as loudly obtuse and popular as the S.S. (and friends).

We have had our share of differences in the past but i totally agree with you this time. We can't sweep this under the rug and try to forget about it b/c it's not gonna go away. Letting everyone vent and relieve themselves of all this frustration is great. I made a quick point about there will always be noobs and i said YES to doom's day.

I don't remember ever saying that to anyone but if I did then try and prove me wrong and I will swollow my words...also yes I am an admin and I am a fair one...I haven't had no complaints....... but just because I am an admin doesn't mean I cannot voice my opinion wether he is an admin or not, and I am not bashing his way of being an admin.....I am going at him as a person not an admin. So maybe you should back down about something you don't know.

Keek yes I had made a mistake about referring an admin as I think we all have, we all have miss judged someone at some point but you seem to be blind of other peoples opinion on not wanting changes.. Honestly I really could care less if there are changes or not but I thought I would say my opinion on the subject, I like playing there regardless I have fun there and there are some really great people I met there and enjoy plying with no matter what the changes

And why is it everytime there is a disagreement in the room somehow the S.S. are main subject??? It is obvious you are not a fan of the S.S. but in almost everything you have wrote you say something about the S.S. or include there tags somehow, this thread is not about the S.S. , some who have replied in it are part of S.S. yes but there are few S.S. that play there anymore and the ones that do play there I haven't seen a reply from except myself and Ship and ocassionally Zog gives us his wonderful apperance ............ But why in almost everything you say you bring the S.S. up?? I have seen alot of replies from clan memebers and non-clan memebers but you seem to be pointing out the S.S.
