hidden and dangerous2
Is there anyone who can tell me a bit more about hidden and dangerous2?
Is it any good? what are the reviews?
and have or will you buy it?
If you did buy it is it better then call of duty?
Please tell me what you think.

I like it. It's very different than CoD or others. I would say it's much closer to a WWII version of Ghost Recon. It's much more realistic and requires significantly more strategy than the arcade style games like MoH and CoD.
I like CoD too, but see the two as completely different types of games.

Hi Guys!
I bought this game on Monday and I haven't been able to stop playing it since. I'm usually on BF42.Com #1 at night, but I've been playing single player H&D2 like theres no tomorrow. I bought the first H&D back when it first came out, the copyright on my copy said 1999 but it seemed like it came out before that. H&D1 was the first FPS to let you pick up your enemys weapons, at least as far as I can remember. The first one was a little on the rough side though, it seemed to need actual humans to be in control of your squadmates because of too much squad coordination to complete the missions, otherwise it was a fun game for its time.
Anyway heres my review of H&D2:
It has the squad based feel(up to 4) of Rainbow 6 and Swat 3 with the inventory and stealth aspects of Hitman, put that into a setting that the BF42 players are familar with and you have H&D2.
I have only played the multiplayer once and I don't have too much to say about it yet. This was on Monday or Tuesday and there weren't many servers up and not many people playing on them, I only hope I was shooting at the right people:roll:
I can highly recommend it for its single player campaign, like I said up top I can't stop playing it. It does have some vehicles in it which I'm assuming exist in the multiplayer version. No planes to fly:( , plenty of enemy planes to shoot down though. I had one mission where my squad got to ride as tailgunners in a stolen Junkers 88 which was a lot of fun, I was able to use the aiming techniques I had learned playing BF42. Other vehicles include motorcycles, jeeps(with MG's), trucks, mobile flak trucks, Tiger and Panther. I got to drive the Tiger, it holds 4: driver, main gun, mg, and an extra seat for that 4th squad member who feels left out. Not sure how the tanks work in multiplayer, but in sp you need a driver and someone else to work the guns. They do let you drive the tank from the gunners positions much like a BF42 tank but your controlling the whole squad anyway so it makes sense. This would require a lot of communication between the driver and gunner in multiplayer.
As for weapons: it has everything you've used in BF42 plus a lot more. Silencers, scopes, AT, mines(AP/AT), explosives. More weapon realism: AT can't be used while prone and certain heavy MGs need to be fired while prone.
As for inventory: Another cool feature from the original, you can take any item the "victim" was using. Uniforms are a little different though, you need to capture(through demoralization) your enemy. They need to be alone and you can do things like shoot the gun from there hand or wounding/shooting at them, I haven't tried outnumbering them yet. Once you have your enemy uniform you will need to complete your disguise and lose any allied shit you are carrying including your backpack they don't seem to mind the knife though. You have a disguise meter that starts to slowly decrease when an enemy is looking at you(in range), the more enemies looking at you the faster it decreases, once you are out of sight it slowly goes back to full.
There is a stealth mode like in Hitman where you can sneak up on your "victim" when more discetion is needed. It has a single save slot that you can overwrite to your hearts content, but if you mess it up you have to restart that mission. The save feature made the Junkers mission a whole lot more fun. My only gripe is the key binding, first off it defaults to the cursor keys for movement which I have never used and am not about to start. The game assigns lots of keys on about 5 different pages and WILL NOT LET YOU PLAY UNLESS ALL KEYS ARE ASSIGNED(come on guys if a keys not assigned and I actually need to use it, I'll figure it out when the time comes). I only capitalized that last part because it's a major roadblock to playing the game right after you've installed it, you know first impressions and all. I've had a few crashes, lost the save file on crashes during load and save(once each). The game is only about a week old now so I'm sure these thing can be fixed.
I recommend this game highly for its singleplayer campaign, the missions don't seem to have any of the shortcomings that the original had. I don't know how far into the game I am, but I just got to a Japanese mission. As far as the Multiplayer, don't know yet, it's no BF42 but I would be interested in playing it with any of you if you have it.
Hope this answers some questions,

The box says it has 20 singleplayer missions, I just checked my progress and it looks like I'm on the 12th mission now. The first campaign was arctic and had 4 missions where you need to carry over equipment from one mission to the next which is why inventory is important. The second campaign is Africa and it had 6 missions in it. Next was a single mission in Norway with a 2 man mini-sub thing and diving gear. Now I just started the Burma campaign haven't played it yet though because I know once I start I won't want to stop.
I think it only took me around 4 days to finish Jedi Academy not that they're similar it's just the last singleplayer game I finished and can remember it didn't take too long. Jedi is a very linear game and it is easy to progress using the saves. H&D2 is fairly open with objectives that can be achieved using various methods. Take the mission where I got to use the Tiger, I conservatively snuck around in my German uniform taking out the germans discretely as possible finding the tank later and hardly using it. I think the mission might play a little differently if I steal the tank first and come at them head on.
I don't know why these games don't get more notice, the first game was way ahead of it's time. It took squad based games to the battlefield and gave you inventory, disguises, and vehicles. H&D2 has all that and more, the missions are some of the best I have ever played. I can spend most of the day just finishing one and not even realize how much time I just spent. I'm only playing on normal difficulty right now, but I'm sure I'll go back and try out a few missions differently. I think these games are more popular in the UK since it is based on the SAS, I mentioned it on TS one night and *SPiKe* said he enjoyed the first game.

IGN Review
8.4 Presentation
Excellent music; lots of variety and attention to historical detail. However, character stats and abilities seem unbalanced.
8.1 Graphics
The LS3D engine is showing its age--vehicles look nice, character animations are fluid, but textures are blurry and outdoor environments are kinda blocky.
8.4 Sound
Every weapon and explosive device sounds different and visceral. Footsteps resonate according to ground material. Machine gun gunfire tended to cut out, however.
7.3 Gameplay
A pile of nagging issues combine to drain the fun factor to occasional fits of brilliance.
7.8 Lasting Appeal
It still feels like a work in progress.
7.9 OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)
