I saw an actual TIGER tank today!

Off topic, but don't go too far overboard - after all, we are watching...heh.

Near Toronto there are 2 tanks, Shermans I think, parked near Lake Ontario. You can climb into one of them. Pretty damned cramped in there.

That's really cool you saw the Tiger. Wonder what they were doing with it.

yeah I should have slowed down and had a longer look. Now that I think about it, the trucks were heading in the direction of the museum!! oh that would be so neat if it was on display there for a bit

if they put it on display, take some photos and post them
for us. :)

That would be awesome. Complete Tiger tanks are as rare as hens teeth. I wasn't even aware that there were some on this continent.

Really? I 've been to Lakeshore plenty of times, is it near Ontario Place where that World War II destroyer is? I live near Lakeshore actually.

I live less than a half hour from Ft. Rucker an there is a tank depot or something w/ several tanks.., not really sure what they are...something current. There are also APC's there.

Plus they have a musuem on base w/ aircraft, tanks, jeeps,...really cool stuff. Though I haven't been to the museum since i was kid. All the other stuff I see quite regularly. Blackhawks, Chinooks, Apaches, Huey's and TH 60.

Back around Desert Storm and even during some the current war in Iraq.....you might catch the occasional A10 'warthog' leaving base.

Also I've seen hueys on routine flight make emergency landings in a pasture in my backyard...I rode my dirtbike out to it a talked with pilot....I was like 15 yrs old.

Some of the perks of living near a base.
